NewNick,

I have kids. And yes, I think parenting is the important factor here and is what matters. I would prefer all porn to be on paysites only, but that ship has sailed long ago, and I can not solve this problem right now. Thus, I am happy with trying to make the sites I can control as safe as possible in the current climate.

I do however disagree that there is a PROBLEM with people seeing porn at a younger age than 10 years ago. There have been many studies on this subject, and boys that share videos on their phones (which is the main source right now btw, and they do not come from tubes) in school actually share them not because they like what they see. They actually all look for 'normal' sex like everyone else did 10 years ago. So nothing changed there it seems. Kids are not that easily manipulated.

This is from a study I read about in a german paper btw. There is a problem with kids in certain poorer areas, but these problems again do not come from tubes or free porn online, it comes from parents not caring and actually letting their kids sit next to them while they watch porn on their own. Or interacting among adults so badly that kids learn that sex buys love. This is 100% a parenting thing though again and has nothing to do with free porn online.

And the EU VOD directive does not enforce that, it is more complicated than that and depends on exact implementation in each member state. It seems to be causing this in the UK, it will not cause this everywhere.

If you have a suggestion on how to kill free porn everywhere on the internet, please share it! If it works, I will help you implement it asap!

The sad thing about stuff like the EU VOD directive is that they think they are solving a problem, but actually are solving nothing. This is something that the internet 'revolution' needs to figure out, it is the hardest part of the whole development, the fact that control is basically gone.

The only place to control what is seen on the net is through effective filters on internet connections or the devices used to get online. It is the one and only way to do what they are trying to achieve! If they filter all free porn at the provider level, or put a paywall infront automated, or some other protection system, then they have control! It is the only way I see it work though, and its the only way to not hurt the economy in a certain jurisdiction.

We are getting rather off-topic here btw... But honestly, if we could find a way to achieve the above, to make it mandatory for providers in a jurisdiction to block all porn behind an age verification system of some sort, I would have no issue with this at all. But making the owner of the site achieve this because the jurisdiction can not be bothered with doing the job themself, is just unfair and unjust.
