Done this several times, Tom. Normally this should work, but for some reason, even though the settings are telling it to check for dynamic IP info, this puppy is not releasing the old/incorrect IP info - therefore it cant pick up the new info.
I've had the router/cable modem and all PCs off for several hours today (and yesterday).
When I type:
"C:\>ipconfig /release"
in my Win2000 pc, I get:
"Windows 2000 IP Configuration"
on the new pc:
"C:\>ipconfig /release"
shoots back a local area connection with an Autoconfiguration IP Address. It's holding onto this shit like it was gold.
