Just got a Certified Hosting Geek shared hosting for a bunch of smaller sites, they are great!
- They offered to move my sites from old host for free
- I've called on the phone and spoke to US techs and sales
- Live Chat support is fast and knowledgable
- Email support the same as Live Chat
- Hosting package was down for about 1/2hr the other day, but I'm so used to Network Solutions that this didn't phase me. I called sales and they even knew there was an issue.
- SSH access.
- CPanel
- They even sent me a Thank You card in the mail
as opposed to Network Solutions (Notwork Solutions)
- Tech support is a joke. Usually speak to someone from India who goes off a script and first thing is, 'we need to reset your permissions'.
- Constant latency issues and DDOS attacks. It's a waste of time to call Tech support about this, because they are unaware of any problems for about an hour or two after the fact.
- It's quicker to look on twitter for @netsolcares to see other people tweeting about problems to verify network issues.
- They suspended one of my unlimited hosting accounts without warning. After jumping thru hoops to speak to a so-called Tech Support Manager they said that I was sending spam emails. I don't have email forms on these sites nor do any email. They wanted to charge me to troubleshoot.
- When a hosting company has Go-Granny for their mascot(?) that should be a hint right there.
Sorry about the rant for Network Solutions, but they suck...
