If you use FireFox, and I assume other browsers offer it... you can make a change to make it a little bit more comfortable to you.

In Firefox, if you go to Tools / Options / Content Tab... look at the section for "Fonts and Colors", choose Advanced and you can choose the font to use for "serif", it's probably Times New Roman by default on Windows machines.

Change it to monospace font, or a light font, or something like Courier New and then UNCHECK the box for "Allow Pages To Choose their Own Fonts". Click okay and the font used on the site will change. Your mileage may very and you may need to try different fonts to find one you like.

The bold is likely problematic for a lot of people as the font used is (I think) Verdana, which is already a bit heavy under a normal weight. Thus, it's great for highlighting a word or phrase, but can be "too heavy" when bold-facing a lot of text.
