In the end, we ended up swapping fonts and had a dude do overtime on the markup. Client is happy and since guns are banned here, I ended up talking loudly on the phone with the designer and then booked a lunch with his boss in two weeks hah
Crisis averted. But we really couldn't CSS us out of that problem in any sensible way. Or so the techies told me.
Edit: I see I suck at titles. Desigers = Designers. Was angry lol
