Thanks robwood for the kind words, I'm in a happy place, both professionally and emotionally. True, south beach has it's share of problems but overall, it's a nice place and a vibrant place to live. As you mentioned, everyone should enjoy where they live so I'm happy and so is my girlfriend now
I still hold my canadian citizenship, but it's not by choice but a promise to my parents since they still hold out hope that I will want to come home to retire and and take over the family business. So out of respect to my parents, I still maintain the citizenship and the downside to that is I still pay taxes for a country I absolutely dislike.
And a mini bit of trivial, out of all the western developed countries, Canada is the most taxed country in the world. So I'm still getting screwed not living there
