They have a weak mandatory minimum jail sentence which makes their tight gun laws a joke. A lot of people get caught with guns there and do no time at all. Their most popular rapper at the moment pointed a gun at a cop, and got probation (before the rap money).
In NYC, it's mandatory 3 and a half years minimum just for having it, point it at a cop and you're dead.
