True story: As we know, the right wing screamers recently
really ramped up the 'obama is coming to take all your guns' line. As soon as this started, my wingnut father called me up saying he wanted to buy a gun because *grumble grumble obama grumble*.
Another true story: Same thing happened about 3 years ago, when the screamers were screaming that massive hyperinflation was coming next week. Dad calls me up "you better refinance that variable-rate mortgage into a fixed NOW! Massive inflation is gonna hit any day now!"
As someone who follows economics, i knew rates were actually headed lower, so i politely ignored him. No point in trying to inject facts into the bubble.
