Not exactly, but you implied similar thing by saying its strange how people care about someone 1000 miles away or by saying that its weird how people get tripped by how alcoholics choose to live their lives etc. Your post sounded like we should not care because its their lives.
And I replied that its not entirely true because alcoholics have negative impact on society in many ways, so that may be the reason why people may not like them.
