I remember reading about this in the news when it happened. There was a similar case where a girl who was about 14 or 15 got strip searched by her principal in school because she was accused of giving another girl aspirin.
Some girl got caught with aspirin and the school has a zero drug policy which includes aspirin. In an effort to get into less trouble she told them she got them from another girl. They called that girl into the office and questioned her. When she denied having any or giving any to anyone they searched her locker, backpack and purse. When nothing was found there they searched her pockets. When nothing was found there they preformed a strip search on her. They told her if she didn't go along with it she would be expelled.
As you might imagine her parents were furious. They ended up taking the school to court and it was a case that actually ended up in front of the US Supreme court who ruled in the girl's favor.
Not only does it shock me when people go along with this (although I can understand a scared kid) it shocks me when people have it in their heads that doing this kind of search is okay.
