There are alot of them out there to pick the best since there are so many styles of playing.
For me personally, I love to listen to hendrix's live recordings. The man was just a genius for what he did with the tools that he had available at that time. But, I also listen to many other styles of music as well where the guitar isnt in the front and its just as funky
If you are a guitarist, check out as many people as you can and learn the riffs that catch your ear, they will all come back out in YOUR playing.
