I'd agree that controversy tends to follow porn movies much more than mainstream movies simply because they're porn.

I think it's probably because porn tends to profit from specific scenarios (ie: a 20 minute rape scene being the whole movie), whereas a mainstream movie might have a 5 minute rape scene within a 120 minute movie, and the rape scene isn't usually the basis of the whole story, it's generally a subplot to the overall story of the movie.
