OK, same fish. We call them bluefish here on the east coast of the US. I did not know they were so widespread, with so many different common names.
In the Chesapeake, the popular way of fishing for them is trolling with "eels" - foot long pieces of brightly colored surgical tubing with leaders running through them, a small weight at the head and a hook at the tail.
