I've been taking megadoses of niacin (and loads of other supplements) for nearly 20 years. Even though my diet is extremely high cholesterol, my blood cholesterol is 135(!). BTW GFED, common (un)wisdom says that high dietary cholesterol causes high blood cholesterol. This is false. High dietary carbohydrates cause high blood cholesterol, among many other bad things.

Google niacin cholesterol...it's amazing.

In case you couldn't tell lol, this kind of thing is a longtime passion of mine. If you ever want to discuss, my icq is in my profile. I'm glad you're looking at other options aside from the poisons big pharma sells
Yes, niacin seems to be one of the more popular supplements getting documented on even from the mainstream media and physicians. It amazes me that I was ever prescribed simvastatin in the first place when so many other healthier alternatives are available.

I've also been testing various natural forms of aroma therapy. Lavender to bring down blood pressure, Eucalyptus for congestion, Peppermint for headaches, Clove for toothaches, etc.

I must say that all natural forms have been just as effective as any medicinal counterpart except for the Lavender which actually increases my heart rate from an idle speed of about 80bpm to about 140bpm.
