I don't think it would make much difference at this point. Everything is computerized, and much of the time labels and things are already in both applicable units of measure. I had an American visitor ask me in the grocery store the other day if a a kilo of hashbrowns was enough for her recipe (she needed just over a pound) which was easy enough to answer.
