I'm not sure if its just a canadian thing or not but idiots/rednecks in our parts think that if people drive under the speed limit in snowy/icy conditions that they 'just don't know how to drive in the snow'. They also believe that because they have snow tires this empowers them from any slipping, then they hit black ice and spend the next hour or so in a ditch scratching their head wondering what went wrong and how they can blame this on the government ;)
It's not like they don't slow down in F1 racing in bad conditions right?? hehe

i once did a winter training with my car on ice to learn how to drive under bad conditions - i'd highly recommend that
but all season tires are definitely much inferior to good winter tires - and some common sense also helps ;)
