Finally, the guns debate in the US is not strictly about guns but rather about the ability of an individual to NOT rely on his government for anything, including his own protection. This independent attitude, this risk-taking mentality is what made and still makes the US the #1 country in the world. Being the only superpower isn't an accident.
Well Canada is the number one country that the US exports to in the amount of 280 billion per year. So it might cause some effect if that were to stop. Last time i checked the US isn't actively protecting the far north, canada is and while yes canada and a number of countries rely on the US for backup if shit hits the fan its because we're allies. there are certain people that just shouldn't have access to guns, plain and simple. it doesn't mean no one should have access to them. you can buy guns at canadian tire in canada but not assault rifles.
