Some interesting shit on Rachel Maddow. She's interviewing a guy that wrote a Columbine book, and deals with these types of shootings. He said in most cases, it's someone who is very depressed. Sometimes it's a mentally ill person, or just a complete psychopath who can't have empathy for other people. But most of the time its a depressed person.

Anyway, he was saying the schools need programs that try to identify horribly depressed students, because kids want to tell someone they're in that state -- but not their parents. So the pot boils over and this happens.
