Sounds completely workable - if parents raise a kid with problems, throw the parents in jail.
That way, when drugs are legalized so the government can get the tax revenue, the government has a new way to make money for the prison-industrial complex, and political 'street rep' for themselves.
I can think of all kinds of things we can jail parents for.
I think you have a politically doable idea there. The republicans in particular will be totally down with it.
Think of all the cheap prison labor we can get from single mothers alone.
