You can say the same about most places. Corruption is almost everywhere in the world, just not always in your face and available to your advantage. Here you can use it to your advantage, so that is actually a huge bonus. I'd rather be able to use it in my favor than not.
Regarding anti-porn laws, there are more countries in the world who have anti-porn laws than not. Some places just tolerate it better than others. But make no mistake, Thailand gives two shits about people working in the porn business, as the Thais are permitted to do it with no problems. They only care about foreigners doing it and how much money they can milk them for if they catch them.
