I did something like this called Run For Your Lives - was a 5K course on somewhat of a hiking trail in the middle of nowhere pretty much - hour drive from San Diego. Was pretty intense. Muddy as fuck - impossible to get out of it without getting really dirty. I might have gotten out "alive" (i.e. with life flags) but fell and busted my knee trying to get away from a zombie early in it, plus there are so many times where there's a lot of zombies spread out over a long area and it's really hard to keep running away for that long.
Definitely memorable.
