Problem I see as an owner of an affiliate program already is that when I look at the site it tells me that if the affiliate program has never been updated it gives me the feeling that nothing else was either. Or, that maybe we're not offering the latest and greatest tools because it looks so old...I just don't feel it represents the sites or the times.
The affiliate program I'm speaking of hasn't had an updated design on it since it was built back in 1999. So it's very dated.

I get that you aren't likely to put up a Hun-style affiliate program.
I do think that communicating what is offered up front is important. I've signed up for countless programs over the years, only to get inside and find out that they didn't offer whatever tool I wanted at the time, had a leaky affiliate tour, etc.
