Agreed.
I have worked with Andy, Konrad, Vlad (from list above) and all of them have different skill sets. I absolutely loved Andy. He would bang shit out in an afternoon that it would take others a week to do. While he was more expensive per hour, he was so much faster and better than others I was working with that the time, he was well worth it. Konrad and Vlad are also good, each has their different strengths.
When it comes to Vlad, he is a perfectionist. Which is to say that sometimes he is slower than I would like as a client. However, to his credit as a developer, his code is excellent, and once the project is delivered, there has rarely been any issue. It has been solid, and worked like I wanted 100%.
Konrad can do just about anything, and is fairly quick. He has expanded his business, and has a team now.
When it comes to developers, each has their different abilities. Some are much more efficient (like in Andy's case) and somehow get things bang out very fast and solid. Others have better communications skills, can better set accurate deliver dates, are more personable, affordable, or whatever.
My point is, with each you have trade offs. Finding the right balance is the key.
