I've been there. Flavors don't seem appealing at first and all you want is something to replicate a real cigarette. However, there are some really impressive juice makers out there who put a lot of love into mixing their juices and make some very tasty stuff. So good that I actually enjoy vaping as opposed to feeding an addiction.
There's also a lot of shit juice out there so it does take a bit of trial and error.
That said, here is the exact setup that I use (hardware and juice) to replicate a real cig and it's pretty close in my opinion to a Marlboro Light:

Juice:
Smokeless Image "County" flavor juice, 24mg nicotine
That juice is just for a very specific real cigarette flavor. Smokeless Image's other juices suck and I'd recommend a more specialized juice vendor for other flavors but for whatever reason that juice is a good tobacco flavor in my opinion.
You probably want 2 batteries so you always have one that's charged. Probably 3 or 4 clearomizers and of course a USB charger
like this one . The eGo twist is a very solid, user friendly battery that is also inexpensive so a good way to get into vaping.
