Back in 1978, a buddy of mine was havin' a major house party and from a few hundred yards up the street all I could hear was stuff from the (then) brand-new first Van Halen album...just released - barely on radio at that point.
So of course I had to wander down and check things out. A Toronto-based band on the road to do a gig in Orillia heard the party...stopped in for a few hours and jammed in the basement, trying to emulate some of the new Van Halen sound.
Still remember that like it was yesterday.
