This is exactly what happened to me when I graduated from college. I dropped out of high school, went into the Marines, and I graduated college at the same time of the dot cum bubble burst. Just because you go to college doesn't mean the economy will have a job waiting for you.
(In fact, this is exactly how I got into porn!)

How is it morphing into a nannie state? Did something change? Has anyone ever made any large change to welfare? We have more people on welfare now than before - duh. Look at what President Bush left us with. This is not something that is going to be fixed in four years.

I knew this all along. You can pay more and taxes and it's not going to change your lifestyle at all. That's great. But now the guy who sweeps the floors at your plant might pay a little less, and might not worry about being able to afford his grocery bill this weekend.
