Because I can. It's called contributing to society. Making your state a better place to live for all.
If governments ran efficiently and didn't misappropriate tax dollars you would see a lot more people who CAN pay more taxes offer to do so.
As it stands now, people who have some extra cash aren't going to offer it up to a system that's proven broken time in and time out.
