3d secure and VV basically just ask the customer for another password.. it throws up a pop up when you go to pay asking you to verify the transaction.
the customer then enters the password to prove its them using the card.. thus cancelling our and friendly fraud/ "it wasnt me" chargebacks which in the adult industry is 90% of all chargebacks.

And in regards to the cash merchants, i dont know tons about them but i know some of them work by letting your customer go to a local wallmart or news agents and buying a voucher.. then can then enter the code on the voucher online (to any sites that participate) in the same way you would use a pre paid card.. but im pretty sure you cant charge these back.
