Back in FL, used to have 40-50 MPH winds and my power would barely even flicker.. Internet would stay on, cable TV ect..ect..

On the odd chance that power did go out in FL, it was always back usually the same day or at worst case 1 to 2 days.

You would see FPL & the tree trimming trucks staged the day before the storm hit in empty parking lots, because they didn't wait till afterwards to get their crews on the scene. They put them in place before the storm hit.

New England is a whole different animal as I've known people up here that have been out of power for up to two weeks because of a storm.

The last one we had up here my power went out before the storm even hit and was out 5 days.
I agree, since i moved to Maine i have had 28 power outages in an 18 month period. Central Maine Power is a joke refusing to put new power-lines underground, they would rather make consumers wait days for repair's.
Fuck i lived in San Diego for 16 years and only had 2 outages despite all the earthquakes and fires we had. I lived in Malaysia for two years, a third world country and never experienced an outage.
