Have to agree on the "fundamental agreement". However, those who articulated those thoughts and philosophies in their time prior to the Framers in those other less-enlightened societies probably risked more than those who were "in power" in the new Republic by publishing. So to whose genius are we referring here?

And the erosion is an unfortunate result, in my view, of what Mussolini defined as "corporatism" (?) I think, where the executive branch is prone to influences external to the population, or supposedly the "power base" of the republic....
