I've been in the business since 1973. I've seen it change from 8/16mm films to Bluray and streaming. But, one constant has been the existence of groups like the American Family Association, Citizens for Decency Through Law and Citizens Against Pornography. They preach from the pulpit that pornograph is equated to crime, child pornography, human trafficking and sexual addiction. These groups are not your friends.
Folks, just because they are currently out of power doesn't mean that they aren't thinking about us and plotting our demise. Gov. Romney is their horse in this race and he will consider their desires if he wins. He has already signed their pledge to fight porn; and, they will try and hold him to it. Romney is pretty scary especially if it is true that he has chosen Judge Bork to lead his judicial advisory committee. This committee will be recommending attorneys to appoint as the leaders of the DOJ for the next presidential term and they will be very hostile if they have the Bork stamp of approval.
That you can bet on.

Do I think the government would use a combination of obscenity and 2257 to go after the industry? I don't know; but, the scenario is feasible.
