I'll corroborate the licorice aspect of things. Licorice - not the candy - which in the US in really anisette - does amazing things. I know, I had a gum infection after dental surgery which sent me to the ER. They gave me a creme which had me puking all night. Looked it up the next day, it was never supposed to be placed directly on the gums which they told me to do.

Here in VT homeopathic/naturopathic doctors are licensed just like MDs. So I went to one, he gave me licorice, the whole thing disappeared in days.

Fact is, antibiotics in general make the problem worse. They don't kill just the infection (probably not at all, they're used so much most infections are resistant to them) they kill *all* bacteria, some of which are helpful to staying alive.

I've had doctors tell me they'll prescribe very expensive drugs - usually it's Prozac - because the side effects may possibly work for me. I stopped asking after that. If I get hit by a truck, I'll go to the ER. Otherwise, I'll go with what works, and I've seen licorice shut a cold down. The stuff is golden, has a thousand plus years of research, it works.

See a homeopath or naturopath for your condition - they are usually pretty good at results.
