Yes there is, an inmate in a PA prison can be placed in a Security Level (SL) 5 Housing Unit which is "Administrative Custody." If an inmate in PA is in danger by/from some person(s) in the facility and cannot be protected by alternate measures.
In ALL U.S. prisons there are housing units that are set aside to protect inmates if they're in danger, likely to be in danger, are disruptive, etc. Some prisons don't have segregation units just for Child Molestors but they can choose to be put into a regular isolation cell.
You go through classification once you get to where you're going and classification keeps track of your entire record, if you've ever had altercations, if there's another inmate you cannot be housed with, any gang affiliation, your security level, etc etc.
Although if someone thinks you're in for a sex crime, they'll usually ask you to show them your court papers or they can have someone on the outside lookup your crime online. A lot of states won't allow you have to have your papers on you anymore because they know it's used for this reason.
