I agree its a problem. But what so many want to willingly ignore is that these "problems" were always there. There was always stolen content, there was always free content and so on. People used to pay for only pictures because everyone was on dialup. And thats all that was out there... millions of tgp galleries full of free pictures. No one failed when they were selling access to 1,000,000 pics by using 1000s of the same galleries to sell them.
People talk today about "free content" being a problem as if "free content" never existed until recently. It's the height of idiocy in my opinion.
