Speaking from experience, but I am not a lawyer so speak to one.

Absolutly do not accept the offer. You will be signing away all your rights to future compensation for medical bills and for pain and suffering. Insurance companies always have 3 offers for you. Low, medium and high, it's looks like they low balled you with an extra low offer. If they call you again tell them you do not accept their offer and that you will be getting legal consultation. Also do not tell them you want x amount of compensation as they will use this against you in the future. Go talk to a lawyer, the good ones will not charge you for anything and will only take a cut of what you get. The cut may be high as a 1/3 but they will get you way more digits on the offer for a settlement.
