Find your favorite video and photo set, the ones you enjoy the most. Go through them but THIS time with a PEN in your hand [GRIN] and make notes. What poses, positions and shots are the best, where is the camera in relation to the performers, where are the lights, etc.

Have a shot list for both stills and video before you start and remember that the lighting is usually different for stills than for Video, depending on the cameras.

Pick out the hottest photo you've ever seen and when you interview a prospective model try to imagine her in the pose from that photo and see in your mind what she'll look like.

These things worked for me, hope they help you.
