Since the 29th EMDs are being penalized, not just losing their advantage but actually penalized, it's what I'm seeing and it is what every webmaster is reporting in thousands of posts around forums. Sure if an EMD has tons more inbound links than the competition it will keep the top spot but that is now in spite of it's name. With equal back link EMDs now rank lower than non-EMDs. Get it?
That's just not true. There is no way Google would penalize an EMD just becaus it's EMD.
