USA has just over 75 times more area than England and 6 times the population.
that said, there is only so far you can drive in one day.

and i think your speed limit is much slower than the uk so your not going to be abel to go all that far.

how many people do over 150 miles each day? not many.

and as fuel costs go up, and the cost of cars get cheaper then such cars will sell.
