I'm not going to waste much time on this, but I worked in retail for a bit when I took a break from adult alongside a good friend who I've known for years now. It was an electronics store. I cannot tell you how many people came in DAILY to spend thousands of dollars on new TV's, laptops, etc. Sure, it's down, but there was still plenty of people pulling out their cards and cash to buy. Our region was pulling in nearly 500k/day in sales.
Economy is going to down the shitter, but it's the blue-collar, middle income families who suffer the most. If you're smart, you learn to budget, and cut back on the non-essentials in life.
I'll never forget the couple who came in to buy a few TV's, surround sound, TV stand, etc. They filled out a credit application with us, and under their combined income, it stated $40,000/month...yes, 40k a month! It's a shame I was married considering the wife was laying down the flirting like a horny schoolgirl!
All in all, we need to find something new and innovative. The same old thing isn't going to keep selling. You think people would still buy big, heavy, glass TV's? No way in hell. I had a hard time giving mine away for free when it was time! Think about it - what new has come out of adult in the last few years? Absolutely nothing.
