The only business sectors that are in the shitter are the stuff the only blooms in times of excess. Companies that vulture in recessions are doing very well. Payday loans of example. I also know people making bank in PPI claims (that won't last long though).
Porn is an excess. An unnecessary form of entertainment. So when you reshuffle your finances, porn will be the first to go. Alongside cable TV, a mobile phone etc.
Not that I'm complaining. The economy is good for me. I'm earning more than ever doing as little work as ever. My phone doesn't stop ringing with job offers. I've had to blank my phone details off my CV.

+1 and yep things like those payday loans are doing well and there are a lot who are now doing affiliate programs for them

Look at the mainstream companies doing well (in the UK at least) - Poundland, TopCashback, MoneySavingExpert (Massively popular), the holiday trade suffered massively this year because for the third year in a row people didn't have an additional £500, year 1 they spent that on a holiday, year 2 a tv because it broke, year 3 (this year) that £500 is more precious than anything, and the car just failed its MOT because you haven't spent anything on it in three years... what do you spend your money on?
I'm not saying the free tubes aren't hurting it further, but this is a fucked recession as bad as the 30's not comparable to the 80's, it's not ALL about the tubes.

I aggree I think when you work out of porn as well, it gives you a much broader view on just how bad the economy really is and yes tubes and copyright dont help but they are not the cause of the downfall of porn. If the economy ever gets back to how it was then paysites will do a lot better once again.
