The left and right in the US is split roughly 50/50. The reason why Fox News dominates the ratings is they've got not only conservatives tuning in, but also liberals seeking an element of drama in their TV viewing. Some liberals watch shows, read books and view websites because they want to be offended. Conservatives rarely do this.
