With the Kuril islands, it seems Russia took the islands by force at the close of WWII, and then Japan gave up all rights to the islands in the San Francisco Peace Treaty.
yea, during a time when the japanese and in extension the US used chinese civilians as guinea pigs for its biologocial warfare

sucks to be you guys, but the chinese are going to probably hammer that region, and i can't say they're wrong
