Bingo. The 4S is small/light enough. Has the market really responded to Apple over the last 2-3 years and "demanded" a smaller/lighter phone? I don't think it has, but I could be wrong. They should have leveraged the size/design to include NFC and beef up the battery.
I'll stick with my 4S for a while. It will feel like a new phone anyway once they release iOS 6. I'm looking forward to the new features. They really just played (barely) some catch-up with the hardware. Where they innovated was the OS.
I wouldn't really say it's a big disappointment since I just upgraded to the 4S in June; at least now I don't feel like I missed out on another revolutionary device. The 4S is still a very capable piece of technology.
