Tony...I could swear that my local property taxes are what are the main funding for local schools. Not federal funding. Am I wrong on that?

Because if I'm right, then that has NEVER been cut. lol It just keeps going up it seems.

And it looks from this chart that we now spend more on public education per child than at any time in history:

I just wonder how much of that money actually goes to the kids, and how much of it is used to pay salaries of schoolboard bureaucrats and their offices and staff.

I still have a child in school. And we have to pay for almost everything she does out of pocket. Not like when I was a kid in school. They make us pay for every supply she uses, then make us pay to come see her do her recitals and band performances! They didn't do that when I was a kid.

Yet according to that chart, we are pumping double the amount of money per child into the school system now than when I was in school (in the 70's)

My thought is that there is a lot of waste and money going to bureaucrats instead of to teachers and classroom necessities

The money is definitely going in. But what happens after that is where the problem lies.
