Viva Las Vegas

I just went and put the 1964 Elvis movie "Viva Las Vegas" in my queue on my Blockbuster online account.

Just watched the trailer. Damn Vegas was cool as shit back then. The whole thing is Fremont St. You can see the Golden Nugget and Binions and all the other great old school casinos.
That was THE strip before the corporations came to town and sanitized everything.

Great scene with Elvis and Ann Margaret on the old diving board at The Riviera too. (I had a suite at the Riv and was swimming in that same pool a few days ago). The diving board is long gone...I'm assuming that fucking insurance won't allow it anymore. But the pool still has a 12 foot deep section where the diving board used to be. Probably the ONLY pool in all of Las Vegas that still has a "deep end".
