A double-decker sleeper bus with 39 people, including staff and passengers, rear-ended a tanker carrying methanol at 2:00 in the morning on August 26, 2012. Both vehicles caught fire, and only three people escaped from the burning wreckage of the bus. The driver of the tanker, who did not sustain any injuries, is now in custody. The small number of escapees is allegedly due to the fact that the accident occurred at 2 in the morning, when most passengers were sleeping, and most importantly, because the double-decker bus had no emergency exits, and all the windows were firmly sealed, impeding a quick escape.
