win"? I thought that the USSR was that country which has got to the space first. The USA were second. Isn't it?
The space race (first Earth satellite and first man in the space) was won by the USSR. The USA won the Moon race only. This is just one of many way stations in the endless road to stars (Moon, Mars, first exoplanet outside the Solar System etc...)
P.S. Nazi not just "helped" the USA. They have built all the US space program from the scratch. Wernher von Braun the key person in the US space programs was a Nazi
SS officer. I doubt the USA had a successful space program without him.
