To make it simple, here's why.
Online porn spent 12 years or more teaching customers not to pay for porn. They used various methods to do this.

Online porn spent 12 years or more giving away the product to get traffic, they all tried to out do each other in who could give away the most. Saying "Traffic is King", "Try selling anything without traffic", "I can sell anything if I have enough traffic". And other choice phrases.
Now they have all the traffic they could ever dream of. And so few of the surfers buy the cost of getting the traffic is sending them to the wall, selling off and getting out, getting out or a few of the top dogs still survive. Their turn will come.
A lot of people will now tell you this is rubbish, without saying anything else but look at someone else as how well they're doing.
