Commenting is great and all, but IMO the most effective way to forestall ICM's application for .sex, .adult and .porn would be to file an objection under one or more of the four grounds for objection that are delineated in the
gTLD Applicant Guidebook. Filing a formal objection effectively
forces ICANN to answer to your complaints; in comments, ICANN may or may not address your complaints at all.
IMO, for most people who object to the ICM's applications, the two strongest candidates among the four possible grounds for objection are the "limited public interest" and "community" objections.
The bad news, of course, is that filing such an objection costs money, you have to pay separately for each type of objection that you file, and the fees are not insubstantial.
