and think about, kids playing video games have no social skills, no friends (cept for those online) so going out and shooting others probably dont seem overly abnormal.

I would say most American children are exposed to large amounts of movie violence pretty young. Sex is another thing. I don't have kids, but my brother and most of my friends do and in almost all of the cases they don't mind if their kids watch a movie with a lot of violence in them. They believe their kids can tell the difference between fake and real. But if one of those kids sees a titty or a bare ass or sex it is like the sky is falling.
American boys play with toy guns and swords and fight battles with their friends pretty much as soon as they are able to walk. Violence is breed into our culture in many ways from a very young age.
